How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Strategic Account Manager - Controls

    Location: Remote - UK
    Territory: UK, with regular travel

    The Opportunity

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Strategic Account Manager - Controls to join a well-established global organisation operating within the industrial automation, building automation and energy management sectors.

    This is a high-impact, business development-focused position responsible for identifying, developing and converting strategic opportunities into long-term customer relationships.

    Working across markets including building energy efficiency, energy management, EV infrastructure, microgrids and industrial electrical distribution, you will combine strategic sales expertise with strong technical knowledge to develop new business, grow key accounts and accelerate the adoption of innovative products and solutions.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven technical sales professional who enjoys developing new markets, engaging with senior decision-makers and providing consultative solutions to complex customer requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    As Strategic Account Manager, you will:

    Develop and execute targeted sales strategies across existing and prospective strategic accounts.

    Identify and convert new business opportunities within energy management, microgrids, EV infrastructure and industrial electrical distribution markets.

    Build a strong pipeline of strategic prospects and develop these into long-term customers.

    Drive the adoption of new products and technologies by creating compelling, customer-specific value propositions.

    Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.

    Provide technically informed consultation, helping customers identify the most appropriate products and solutions for their applications.

    Monitor market developments, industry trends and competitor activity to identify emerging commercial opportunities.

    Gather customer and market feedback and translate this into meaningful insight to help influence future product development and strategy.

    Analyse sales and opportunity data to improve conversion rates and maximise the value of available opportunities.

    Maintain accurate sales pipeline, account and opportunity information through CRM systems.

    Lead customer presentations, technical discussions and strategic account meetings.

    Represent the business at trade shows, conferences, industry events and digital events.

    Collaborate with colleagues across different functions and international markets to develop strategic and global accounts.

    Revenue growth across targeted strategic accounts.

    Conversion of new prospects into strategic customers.

    Successful introduction and sale of new products.

    Growth in new business win rates.

    Increasing the proportion and value of available opportunities successfully secured.

    Developing sustainable, long-term revenue from strategic customers.

    About You

    You will be an experienced strategic sales or business development professional with a strong technical background and a track record of winning and developing complex customer accounts.

    Ideally, you will have:

    A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

    At least 5 years' relevant industry experience, ideally within one or more of the following areas:

    Building energy efficiency

    Energy management

    Energy storage

    Electric vehicle infrastructure

    Distributed energy resources

    Microgrids

    Industrial electrical distribution

    Industrial or building automation

    Proven experience in strategic prospecting, business development and account management.

    Strong negotiation and value-based selling skills.

    A good understanding of industrial automation products, electrical controls and their applications.

    The technical capability to understand customer requirements and develop and present appropriate solutions.

    Experience working with complex, international or global customer accounts.

    Strong commercial awareness and the ability to analyse market information and business trends.

    Experience using CRM systems to manage accounts, opportunities and sales pipelines.

    Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    Business-level fluency in English; additional European languages would be advantageous.

    The flexibility and willingness to travel regularly throughout the UK
