How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Site Reliability Engineer | Up to £95,000 DOE | Fully Remote Initially | Cheltenham | Future Hybrid Working

Build resilient systems. Solve complex challenges. Make a real impact.

Are you a Site Reliability Engineer or DevOps professional who enjoys getting stuck into complex infrastructure challenges?

Do you want to work with talented engineers on meaningful projects where reliability, security and technical excellence really matter?

This could be your next opportunity.

We’re looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join a growing technology business of more than 100 people across the UK. You’ll play a key role in designing, building and maintaining resilient systems that support critical operations, while helping shape the technology and practices that underpin them.

    What’s in it for you?

This is a genuinely hands-on role with plenty of scope to influence technical direction, solve interesting problems and make improvements that have a tangible impact.

You’ll initially work fully remotely, with the potential to move to a hybrid arrangement in Cheltenham in the future. Subject to eligibility, you’ll also have the opportunity to progress through security clearance, potentially up to DV level.

You’ll be joining a collaborative environment where learning, development and continuous improvement are actively encouraged.

    Your Role

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you’ll work across the full infrastructure stack — from bare-metal systems and physical infrastructure through to virtualised environments and the applications running on them.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Designing, building and maintaining reliable, scalable physical and virtual infrastructure
Monitoring system performance and proactively identifying and resolving issues
Automating processes using tools such as Ansible
Working with infrastructure as code and configuration management
Supporting CI/CD and wider automation practices
Implementing and improving monitoring, logging and alerting
Collaborating with engineers, stakeholders and wider teams
Identifying opportunities to improve system performance, reliability and efficiency
Contributing to the continuous improvement of tools, systems and engineering practices
    What are we looking for?

You don’t need to tick every single box. If you have strong experience across most of the following, we’d love to hear from you:

Experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps or a similar infrastructure-focused role
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation
Understanding of monitoring, logging and alerting technologies
A methodical, collaborative approach to problem-solving
A genuine interest in building reliable, secure and scalable systems
    The Package

    £75,000 – £95,000 salary, depending on experience
    Annual bonus
    8% non-contributory pension
28 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
Option to buy or sell an additional week of holiday
    Private healthcare
    Life insurance
    Enhanced parental leave
    Flexible working
Learning, development and career progression opportunities
    A supportive, inclusive team environment
The opportunity to work on meaningful, technically challenging projects
    Location & Security Clearance

The role is fully remote initially. Following successful security clearance, there may be a requirement to work 2–3 days per week onsite in Cheltenham in the future.

Due to the nature of the work and the sectors supported, employment will be subject to successful completion of the relevant security screening and clearance process.

Candidates must be eligible for BPSS / SC / DV clearance and meet the relevant UK Government residency and right-to-work requirements associated with the required level of clearance.

    Ready for your next challenge?

If you’re an SRE or DevOps professional who enjoys solving difficult problems, improving infrastructure and working on projects that genuinely matter, we’d love to hear from you.
