How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Benefit from a strong culture of professional development, diversity, and continuous improvement, driving excellence in facilities and infrastructure delivery.

    About Your New Job

As the FM Project Lead, you will:

    * Develop project scopes, coordinate detailed design with stakeholders, and manage robust procurement processes in alignment with strict public-sector regulations and institutional standards.

    * Establish and maintain comprehensive project controls (including programme, cost, scope, quality, and risk), overseeing change management, critical milestones, early recovery actions, and financial forecasting/reporting.

    * Direct project tendering, negotiate contracts (NEC/JCT), set measurable KPIs, and lead commercial meetings to manage the performance of external consultants, designers, and contractors.

    * Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and quality standards, coordinate statutory approvals, and supervise testing, technical reviews, and quality audits.

    * Map and manage complex interfaces and dependencies between FM projects and large-scale institute-wide programmes (utilities, commissioning, IT/security), resolve conflicts, and run joint planning forums for seamless project execution.

    * Oversee all commissioning activities, from system testing to final handover, ensuring all operational documentation (O&M manuals, as-built drawings, validated BIM data, asset registers) is fully prepared for successful transition to BAU.

    * Collaborate with engineering leads and operational stakeholders to shape Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) inputs, develop robust business cases, and support funding approvals.

    * Build strong, trust-based relationships with research and FM stakeholders, facilitating clear, timely communication, conflict resolution, consensus-building, and team development.

    * Embed sustainability and whole-life thinking into all design and construction activities, track post-occupancy performance, and drive ongoing improvements.

    What Skills You Need

    * Degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering, building services, construction, or project management.

    * Recognised project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ or above); IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Certificate.

    * Experience delivering multiple projects in live, regulated environments (e.g., laboratories, healthcare, pharma, higher education).

    * Proven ability in commissioning, acceptance management, and Soft Landings delivery; digital asset management (e.g., BIM/ISO19650, COBie, asset data standards, CAFM/CMMS).

    * Expertise in public-sector procurement, contract management (NEC/JCT), interface management, and stakeholder leadership.

    * Excellent organisational, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, able to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage executive reporting.

    What's on Offer

    * Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including 31 days holiday with option to buy/sell more, subsidised catering, 10% employers pension contribution, access to private medical, on site free parking, swimming pool and social club.

    * The opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting and advancing internationally impactful research through world-class infrastructure delivery.
