How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    National Account Manager

Food & Beverage Distribution | London, UK
    Hybrid / Field-Based | National Travel

    The Opportunity

We are working with a growing food distribution business specialising in health-focused and high-volume food products, supplying customers across the UK through a network of warehouses and an established national supply chain.

They are now looking for a National Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of key customers across the independent and value retail market.

This is a genuinely commercial role, with responsibility for growing revenue, securing new listings, negotiating pricing and terms, increasing volume and developing long-term relationships with senior buyers and decision-makers.

You will have significant ownership of your accounts and will work closely with buying, warehouse, manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure commercial opportunities translate into successful delivery.

    What You'll Be Doing

    * Own and grow a portfolio of national retail groups, wholesalers and buying groups across the UK

    * Develop strong relationships with senior buyers and key decision-makers

    * Lead negotiations around pricing, margins, terms, listings and promotional activity

    * Identify opportunities to increase product range, volume and account revenue

    * Build and deliver account plans aligned to customer and company growth targets

    * Manage regular customer contact, account reviews and commercial discussions

    * Monitor sales performance, margins, forecasts and pipeline activity

    * Identify market, competitor and customer trends and turn these into commercial opportunities

    * Work closely with buying, warehouse, manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure product availability and smooth fulfilment

    * Resolve customer issues quickly and take ownership through to completion

    * Travel regularly to customer sites, head offices and meetings across the UK

    What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced National Account Manager / Key Account Manager who understands how to build and grow commercial relationships within FMCG, food, drink or distribution.

    You'll ideally bring:

    * Proven experience managing and growing national or strategic accounts

    * Experience selling into retailers, wholesalers, buying groups or independent/value retail

    * A strong track record of negotiating commercial terms and increasing account revenue

    * Confidence dealing with buyers and senior decision-makers

    * Strong commercial and numerical ability, with experience across forecasting, sales performance and account planning

    * A proactive approach to identifying opportunities rather than simply managing existing business

    * The ability to work independently across a national customer portfolio

    * Strong communication and relationship-building skills

    * A full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points

    * Flexibility to travel nationally as required

    * Full right to work in the UK
