How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Seeking one Fitter/Wireman and one Fitter/ Tester on a contract basis for my client's workshop in Yeovil!

    Contracts: Fitter/Wireman or Fitter/Tester
    Location: Yeovil, Somerset
    Shift: Monday to Friday. 7am - 3:30pm
    Pay rate: £19.51 per hour PAYE (plus 12.07% holiday pay in addition)

    Aerospace Manufacturing Environment, working on safety-critical aerospace systems within a highly regulated engineering environment.
    Are you a skilled Mechanical Fitter or Wireman with experience in precision engineering or aerospace?
    This is a hands-on role where quality, precision, and teamwork are essential. You'll be assembling and testing advanced aerospace equipment, contributing to products used across civil and military aviation.

    Main responsibilities:

    Assemble and test complex aerospace components to engineering drawings and specifications
    Carry out mechanical fitting on environmental control and life support systems
    Perform pressure testing and functional testing activities
    Follow detailed manufacturing instructions and process documentation
    Complete quality control checks, ensuring all work meets required standards
    Work to strict deadlines to support on-time delivery targets
    Operate within a Lean manufacturing environment, contributing to continuous improvement
    Ideal candidate profile:

    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions
    Proven experience in mechanical fitting and/or aerospace wiring
    Experience with pressure testing (desirable)
    Aerospace wiring skills including soldering to J-STD standards and crimping to IPC standards (Fitter/Wireman contract only. Not required for Fitter/Tester)
    Apprenticeship or equivalent engineering experience (desirable, not essential)
    Strong understanding of health & safety and quality standards
    Comfortable working in a target-driven, customer-focused environment
    Good IT skills and ability to work with production systems
    Team player with a proactive, "get it done" attitude
    High attention to detail-understanding the importance of safety-critical work
    Flexible, reliable, and able to use initiative
    Additional Information:

    Vetting will include a right to work check, drug screen, full 5 years' referencing and a DBS check.
