How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative and commercially minded Product Designer to join an established design and manufacturing business based in Peacehaven, just outside Brighton.

Working as part of a collaborative team, you will focus on the design and development of innovative acoustic solutions for commercial environments, taking products from initial concept through development and prototyping to production-ready solutions.

    The Role

As Product Designer, you will be involved throughout the complete product development lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:

Researching market trends and contributing to product strategy

Developing and presenting creative design concepts

Planning, managing and documenting design and development activities

Producing high-quality design proposals, visuals and presentations

Supporting product development and creating prototypes

Obtaining costings and preparing product estimates

    Creating accurate 3D CAD models

Producing detailed technical drawings and specification documentation

Supporting the successful introduction of new products into production

    About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

A minimum of 2 years' relevant industry experience

A strong background in product design and development

    Proficiency in SolidWorks

Excellent visualisation and presentation skills using KeyShot, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent

Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes

Experience taking new products through development and implementation

The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

    Strong organisational and communication skills

    Desirable Experience

The following would be advantageous but is not essential:

    Freehand sketching skills

Knowledge or experience of acoustics and acoustic products

    Experience using Viscom

    The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a Product Designer looking to take ownership of varied design and development projects within a specialist product environment. You will have the opportunity to combine creativity with hands-on technical development, working on products from initial ideas through to manufacture.

If you have a passion for product design, strong CAD skills and enjoy turning creative concepts into commercially viable products, we would be keen to hear from you
