How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrician

    Are you a qualified Electrician looking for a stable, rewarding role with a better work-life balance?

    Hoop Housing is looking for a skilled and customer-focused Electrician to join a busy property and maintenance team in Newport.

    You’ll enjoy a varied role, working across domestic properties, carrying out everything from electrical repairs and testing to installations and maintenance. Most importantly, you’ll be helping to keep homes safe, comfortable and well maintained for local residents.

    What you’ll be doing

    * Carry out electrical repairs, installations, rewires and new circuits across domestic and commercial properties.

    * Complete electrical testing, inspections and certification.

    * Maintain and test fire alarms, emergency lighting, smoke alarms and door entry systems.

    * Diagnose and repair electrical faults, heating controls and associated systems.

    * Make sure all work meets current regulations, health & safety standards and agreed timescales.

    * Work closely with colleagues, contractors and residents to deliver an excellent service.

    * Support and mentor apprentices and other team members.

    What we’re looking for

    You’ll be a qualified and experienced Electrician who takes pride in their work and enjoys providing a great service to customers.

    You’ll have:

    * NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

    * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

    * City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification.

    * AM2 or equivalent.

    * A completed electrical apprenticeship or equivalent experience.

    * Experience in electrical testing, inspection, maintenance and fault finding.

    * Excellent communication and customer service skills.

    * A full UK driving licence.
