How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

THE SEN TEACHER JOB & SCHOOL

Based in North West London, this is a highly successful and popular special school for pupils aged 11-16 years with profound and multiple learning difficulties. Their recent inspection by Ofsted revealed the school to be 'Outstanding'. They are seeking to appoint an outstanding SEN Teacher who offers a creative and engaging teaching presence in the classroom whilst presenting a multi-sensory curriculum to pupils with significant cognitive development issues.

The school is an exceptional place to work where staff development opportunities and training is plentiful and where staff turnover is low. They frequently promote from within and have a really effective pathway for developing both exceptional SEN teachers but also for developing middle and senior leaders. They are at the forefront of SEND research and play a pivotal role in shaping government policy and SEND curriculum and strategies nationally due to their reputation and results. Despite these lofty standards the school provides an environment that is both uplifting and rewarding for students and staff alike. I have worked with this school for the best part of a decade and can honestly say there is no better place to develop your career in SEND teaching.

They're seeking a talented and motivated SEN Teacher to take on a class of 8 pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties. There is a highly successfuly pathway for pupils with these needs in place and you will be aided by an experienced team of TAs, a Head of Pathway, a highly engaged SLT, a field leading therapy team and a cohesive and approachable cohort of teachers who have made the transition to teach PMLD students themselves and appreciate the journey less experienced SEN teachers face.

    THE IDEAL SEN TEACHER APPLICANT

The school are open minded in their pursuit of their ideal SEN Teacher and have set out the following criteria:

    A qualified teacher with QTS
Have a passion for Special Educational Needs and a creative, inspirational approach to developing and delivering the curriculum, able to inspire and develop pupils to achieve their full potential.
Some background understanding of PMLD would be advantageous
An understanding of early child development strategies would be helpful
Be able to work collaboratively to secure the best outcomes for all pupils.
Have an understanding of behaviour management strategies to support pupils.
Be an excellent classroom manager, able to effectively lead a team of Teaching Assistants.

    WHY THIS SEN TEACHER JOB?

    Well-resourced and enjoyable working environment.
A school invests heavily in staff by providing a range of tailored and bespoke CPD opportunities.
The school will be growing significantly over the next 3-5 years and therefore there will be plenty of opportunities for career advancement
A supportive leadership team who welcome fresh ideas.
