How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Manufacturing Workshop Assistant | West Oxfordshire | Full Time | Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm | 42.5 hours per week | £24,000–£29,000 per annum, depending on age and experience

    Our client manufactures premium, bespoke aluminium gates in West Oxfordshire. Every gate they produce is made to order, so quality, attention to detail and pride in their work are extremely important.

    The Role

    They are seeking enthusiastic and reliable people to join their manufacturing team as Manufacturing Workshop Assistants.

    This is an entry-level role within the workshop, helping to manufacture and finish bespoke aluminium gates. You don't need to have previous experience in gate manufacturing. They are more interested in finding people who are practical, hardworking, keen to learn and take pride in doing a good job.

    The role will involve working across different parts of the manufacturing process. As the team grows, they will look at each person's strengths and interests and determine where they can make the biggest contribution.

    Key Responsibilities

    Preparing aluminium gates for painting, including sanding, filling and surface preparation
    Assisting with painting and finishing gates
    Cutting aluminium components and assisting with CNC machinery
    Helping to assemble and manufacture bespoke gates
    Checking work and maintaining high standards of quality
    Moving materials and helping to keep the workshop organised
    Cleaning and maintaining the workshop and equipment
    Assisting with stock takes and keeping materials organised
    Helping other members of the manufacturing team when required
    Learning new skills and taking on additional responsibilities as you develop
    Requirements
