How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Engineer Lead
    Certain Advantage is hiring for a Mechanical Engineer Lead based in the Southwest area.
    This role is on a permanent basis and is hybrid-based.

    The Role:
    This role is for a Mechanical Engineer Lead—someone ambitious and ready to make an impact. You’ll be results-oriented and driven to succeed.
    You’ll be leading a small, experienced, and collaborative team, and be responsible for:

    Support engineering delivery across the full project lifecycle including concept development, design, implementation, commissioning, and operational support.
    Review and approve technical documentation
    Support configuration management activities.
    Provide technical oversight to facility modifications, infrastructure upgrades, and asset lifecycle management activities.
    Support planning, risk management, and progress reporting activities associated with engineering delivery.
    Support installation, commissioning, and testing activities where required to ensure engineering solutions are successfully implemented.The Individual
    We’re looking for people who can show:

    Degree in Engineering or relevant technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
    Engineering expertise within a highly regulated or safety-critical industry.
    Leading engineering teams or coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities.
    Delivering engineering solutions across the full asset lifecycle including design, modification, maintenance, and operational support.
    Understanding of engineering governance, technical assurance, and configuration management.Desirable Attributes:

    Understanding of the nuclear industry and/or other safety-critical environments.
    Supporting infrastructure or facility-based engineering projects.
    Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or process systems associated with industrial facilities.
    Working within defence or MoD environments supporting asset lifecycle management.The Benefits:
