How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SENIOR HR ADVISOR

    Location: Hybrid / Home Based
    Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum + up to 15% bonus
    Hours: 35 hours per week
    Job Type: Permanent

    Are you an experienced HR professional who enjoys solving people challenges, advising managers and making a real difference to the employee experience?

    We are looking for a confident and commercially minded Senior HR Advisor to join our growing HR team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to take ownership of a broad employee relations caseload while working closely with managers and senior leaders across the business.

    You will be trusted to provide practical, commercially focused HR advice, challenge where necessary and help managers make confident decisions in line with employment legislation and company policy.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    As Senior HR Advisor, you will provide professional HR advice and support across a wide range of people matters, with Employee Relations forming a significant part of the role.

    You will work closely with managers and senior stakeholders, helping them manage people effectively while ensuring a consistent, fair and legally compliant approach.

    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

    Provide expert advice and guidance on Employee Relations matters

    Support managers with disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence cases

    Coach managers through investigations, meetings and formal processes

    Provide clear guidance on UK employment law and company policies

    Challenge and support managers where appropriate, ensuring accountability for people decisions

    Manage and maintain an accurate ER case management process

    Identify trends and recurring themes across employee relations cases

    Analyse sickness absence information and work with managers to encourage early intervention

    Support organisational restructures and wider business change programmes

    Assist with consultation processes and implementation of organisational changes

    Work closely with HR Operations and Payroll to ensure people changes are implemented accurately

    Analyse HR data, dashboards and employee feedback to identify trends and recommend improvements

    Support the development and delivery of manager training, HR workshops and learning sessions

    Build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management

    Support performance management, talent development, succession planning and employee wellbeing initiatives

    Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives

    Work collaboratively with colleagues across different locations and teams

    Provide HR insight and recommendations to improve processes and employee experience

    Support and mentor junior HR colleagues where required

    Take ownership of ad-hoc HR projects and initiatives

    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    We're looking for someone who is confident, approachable, commercially aware and comfortable operating independently.

    You will ideally have:

    CIPD Level 5 qualification or currently working towards it

    Strong experience in Employee Relations and HR case management

    Excellent knowledge of UK employment law

    Experience advising and coaching managers at different levels

    Confidence managing disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence cases

    Experience supporting restructures and organisational change

    TUPE experience would be advantageous

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities

    Experience working within a multi-site or hybrid environment

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    Confidence working with HR data and identifying trends

    Strong Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel

    Experience using HR systems

    Excellent organisation and time-management skills

    A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge and influence

    Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively

    Comfortable working independently as well as part of a wider HR team

    Some HR project experience would be advantageous

    Willingness to travel occasionally when required
