How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Employment and Skills Trainer

    Inspire. Support. Transform Careers.

Are you passionate about helping people gain the skills and confidence to succeed in work?

Here at The Supply Register, and on behalf of Lewisham Collage, we're looking for an enthusiastic Employment and Skills Trainer to join our team and deliver high-quality employability programmes that prepare unemployed learners for sustainable employment. Working with employers and colleagues, you'll design engaging training that develops the skills, knowledge and behaviours employers value.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys making a real difference by helping learners overcome barriers and achieve their career goals.

    About the role

You'll design and deliver engaging employability training tailored to employer and learner needs, creating an inclusive learning environment where every learner can succeed.

Working closely with employers and curriculum colleagues, you'll support learners throughout their journey, assess progress, maintain high-quality standards and help shape programmes that respond to local labour market needs.

    What you'll do

Deliver engaging employability training and workshops.
Develop high-quality learning resources, including digital materials.
Assess learner work and provide constructive feedback.
Support learners through induction, tutorials and progression planning.
Maintain accurate learner records and monitor progress.
Build positive relationships with employers and internal teams.
Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement and self-assessment.
Keep your knowledge of employability, industry practice and teaching up to date.

    What we're looking for

You'll be passionate about helping people develop the skills and confidence to succeed in work. We're looking for someone who has:

A relevant vocational or professional qualification.
A recognised teaching or training qualification (minimum PTTLS or equivalent).
Experience delivering employability, vocational or work-based training.
Experience designing engaging learning resources, including digital materials.
Experience developing training that meets employer and business needs.
Good knowledge of using technology to support teaching and learning.
Strong communication, presentation and coaching skills.
The ability to motivate, inspire and build learners' confidence.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
A collaborative approach, with experience building positive relationships with employers, colleagues and other stakeholders.
A commitment to high-quality teaching, continuous improvement and your own professional development.
A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine commitment to helping learners achieve their goals.

    Why join us?

You'll be part of a supportive team committed to improving lives through education and skills. We value collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement, giving you the opportunity to develop your career while making a real impact on learners and local communities.

    Safeguarding

Lewisham Southwark College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All appointments are subject to appropriate pre-employment checks.

We are also committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and welcome applications from all sections of the community
