How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Goods In Operative

    Location: Braintree
    Salary: £14.00 per hour
    Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4:15pm, Friday 7:30am - early finish
    Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

    Prime Appointments are currently recruiting for a Goods In Operative to join a busy manufacturing company based in Braintree.

    This is a hands-on warehouse role covering the receipt, storage and movement of materials, as well as supporting the despatch of finished goods.

    Duties of Goods In Operative:

    Receiving incoming deliveries and checking quantities against purchase orders and delivery paperwork
    Checking goods for damage or discrepancies
    Booking stock onto the company's ERP system
    Labelling and putting materials away in the correct warehouse locations
    Reporting any shortages, damaged goods or discrepancies
    Delivering materials to the relevant production areas
    Preparing customer orders and internal transfers for despatch
    Checking products, quantities and packaging before despatch
    Completing shipping and delivery paperwork
    Liaising with transport and logistics providers
    Maintaining accurate stock records
    Carrying out stock checks and assisting with physical stocktakes
    Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies
    Supporting stock rotation and material replenishment
    Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe
    Attending daily team meetings and communicating with other departments
    Following all company health & safety and warehouse procedures
    Operating a Counterbalance Forklift safely when requiredRequirements:

    Valid Counterbalance Forklift licence and recent experience is essential
    Previous experience within a Goods In, Goods Out, Warehouse or Logistics environment
    Good understanding of stock control and warehouse processes
    Experience with manual handling
    Good attention to detail and organisational skills
    Good communication and teamwork skills
