How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client has an opportunity for a Production Test Engineer to join them on a contract basis for 12 months.

    You will play a vital role in supporting testing and diagnostics of circuit cards during the production phase of the product lifecycle. You will use your experience to provide technical support to the manufacturing test capability, to ensure programme targets are met to agreed time, cost and quality requirements.

    Role: Production Test Engineer - PCB
    Location: Bolton - fully onsite
    Hourly Rate: between £34-£37 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35
    Clearance: BPSS required to start, full SC to follow
    Hours: 37 hours per week

    What you'll be doing:

    Providing test engineering support to operators on the shopfloor, including supporting the introduction of new test equipment.
    Testing and diagnosing circuit cards down to component level.
    Generating test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports - based on higher-level requirements and information.
    Promptly identifying remedial and corrective actions to allow Manufacturing to continue in line with the programme, following production test failures.
    Supporting meetings with Quality and Operations to provide status updates on Test Engineering actions and investigations.Requirements:

    Essential:
    Minimum HNC level of Engineering qualifications or equivalent.
    Good understanding of digital and analogue electronic measurement and test principles, and fault diagnosis techniques, with demonstrable experience down to component level.
    Experience of circuit card testing is essential, down to component level
    Good verbal and written communication skills, including generation of test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports.
    Ability to plan and organise one's work according to assigned priorities.
