How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    £80,000 - £90,000 + Company Car/Allowance + Private Healthcare + Pension

Are you an experienced Programme Manager looking for the opportunity to help shape the future of a growing infrastructure business?

We're supporting a well-established specialist infrastructure contractor, part of a £100m+ group, as they continue to expand their presence across the UK. Traditionally recognised for delivering major rail infrastructure projects, the business is now investing heavily in the growth of its Energy & Utilities division and is looking for an experienced Programme Manager to play a key role in that journey.

This is a genuine opportunity to influence the direction of the business, working closely with senior leadership to deliver major programmes whilst supporting the growth of new frameworks and client relationships across the energy and infrastructure sectors.

The Role You'll be responsible for leading a portfolio of complex infrastructure programmes from early planning through to successful delivery, ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially and to the highest quality standards.

You'll also play an important role in supporting business growth, working with clients and internal teams to develop new opportunities and strengthen existing framework relationships.

    Responsibilities
Lead multiple infrastructure programmes across rail, energy and civil engineering environments.
Provide programme governance, strategic planning and delivery oversight across live projects.
Manage Project Managers and operational delivery teams.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
Manage NEC contracts, commercial performance and programme risk.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
Support framework development, bids, tenders and business growth initiatives.
Work closely with senior leadership on operational strategy and resource planning.
Drive continuous improvement, programme reporting and delivery excellence.
Champion health, safety and quality throughout project delivery. About You

We're open to candidates from either a Rail or Energy background, as well as those who have delivered major infrastructure programmes within other highly regulated industries such as Nuclear, Utilities, Defence or Civil Engineering.
The key requirement is experience leading complex infrastructure projects and the ability to bring strategic programme management alongside strong commercial awareness.

    Experience Required
Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Engineering, Construction or Project Management.
APMP, PRINCE2 or similar Project Management qualification.
SMSTS, NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
    Strong NEC contract experience (NEC3/NEC4).
Experience leading multiple complex infrastructure projects or programmes.
    Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Commercially aware with experience managing budgets, programme risk and contractual matters.
Experience working within regulated industries. Highly Desirable Experience within one or more of the following:

    Rail Infrastructure
    Energy Infrastructure
    Power Transmission & Distribution
    Substations
    Overhead Lines
    Utilities
    Water
    Highways
Civil Engineering Experience with organisations such as Network Rail, National Grid, DNOs, EDF, Sellafield, AWE, Tier 1 contractors or major infrastructure frameworks would be advantageous but is not essential.
Experience supporting bids, tenders, framework growth or business development would also be highly beneficial.
    What's on Offer
    £80,000 - £90,000 basic salary
    Company Car or Car Allowance
    Private Healthcare
    Pension Scheme
    Hybrid Working
    Long-term career progression
The opportunity to influence the growth of an expanding Energy & Infrastructure division
A senior leadership role with genuine autonomy and visibility across the business This role would suit someone who enjoys operating strategically, building relationships, developing teams and delivering major infrastructure programmes, while playing an active role in helping shape the future direction of a growing business.
