How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you an experienced Paint Sprayer looking for a career progression? Do you have a background in wood finishing/joinery? If so, you may be suitable for the following role.

    We are currently recruiting for a Supervisor to run the paint shop of a busy manufacturing business based in the Suffolk Countryside! This role is commutable from anyone who lives in Stowmarket / Ipswich area.

    This is a hands-on role that combines practical spray duties with the day-to-day supervision of a skilled team, ensuring projects are completed to the highest quality standards and delivered on time.

    Key Responsibilities: -

    Lead and support the day-to-day operations of the spray shop department
    Plan workloads and prioritise jobs to ensure customer delivery deadlines are achieved
    Supervise, mentor, and develop team members to maximise performance and productivity
    Monitor quality standards and ensure all finished goods meet specification requirements
    Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and productivity
    Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee development activities
    Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and organisation within the department

    In addition to supervisory responsibilities, you will also be involved in practical activities including:

    Sanding and preparing products for finishing
    Mixing paints and stains to specification
    Applying finishes to bespoke joinery products
    Masking, filling, and repairing components where required
    Cleaning and maintaining spray equipment and tools
    Working on detailed quality standards and project deadlines

    Desirable Experience: -

    Knowledge of veneer selection
    Experience within bespoke joinery, furniture manufacturing, or woodworking industries
    Understanding of production planning and scheduling processes
