How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

We are an agency recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist cleaning company seeking an experienced and highly organised Operations Supervisor to oversee cleaning teams and service delivery across retail sites nationwide.

This is a non-working, supervisory position. You will not be expected to carry out cleaning duties as part of your day-to-day role. Instead, you will travel across sites to oversee teams, monitor performance, ensure contractual KPIs and SLAs are consistently achieved, and make sure the quality of work meets or exceeds client expectations.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of staff across multiple sites, acting as the key link between operational teams, management and clients. The role will also involve reviewing site reports, monitoring completion of works, identifying issues and ensuring any actions are followed through promptly.

The successful candidate will be comfortable managing people remotely and across multiple locations, travelling extensively throughout the UK and working flexibly around operational requirements, including nights and early mornings when required.

    Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day performance of cleaning teams operating across multiple UK sites
Travel nationwide to carry out regular site visits, inspections and team meetings
Ensure all contractual KPIs, SLAs and service standards are consistently achieved
Monitor the quality of completed work and ensure it meets client expectations and company standards
Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits
Manage and support staff across sites, providing direction, feedback and day-to-day supervision
Monitor attendance, punctuality, conduct and overall staff performance
Identify performance issues and implement appropriate corrective actions
Review reports, photographs, completion records and other documentation submitted by site teams
Ensure all scheduled works are completed correctly and within agreed timescales
Follow up on incomplete, poor-quality or outstanding works and ensure they are rectified
Act as a point of contact for operational staff and escalate issues to senior management where appropriate
Maintain strong working relationships with clients and ensure their expectations are consistently met
Respond to client concerns and ensure issues are resolved promptly and professionally
Monitor the use, condition and availability of equipment and materials across sites
Ensure teams comply with company procedures, health & safety requirements and site-specific rules
Ensure all relevant paperwork, site reports and compliance documentation are completed accurately
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service quality and team performance
Support the recruitment, induction and ongoing development of operational staff where required
Provide regular performance updates and operational reports to senior management
Ensure a consistently professional company image is maintained across all client sites
    What We're Looking For

Previous experience in a supervisory, management or operations role, ideally within cleaning, facilities management, industrial services, retail, logistics or a similar multi-site environment
    Strong people-management and leadership skills
Experience managing teams across multiple locations or sites
A strong understanding of KPIs, SLAs, quality standards and service delivery
    Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Ability to identify problems quickly and take ownership of resolving them
Confident communicating with both operational staff and clients
Strong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing reports and quality standards
Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, email and reporting systems to monitor site activity
Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional nights, early mornings and weekends where operationally required
Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and stay away from home when required
    Full UK driving licence essential
Previous experience within the cleaning or facilities management sector is highly desirable
    What’s on Offer

£35,000–£40,000 basic salary, depending on experience
Quarterly performance bonus – OTE £38,000–£44,000
    Company van with personal use
Fuel and business travel expenses covered
Accommodation and travel expenses covered when working away
Non-working supervisory position – no routine cleaning duties
Opportunity to take ownership of a nationwide operation
Long-term career opportunity with a growing specialist cleaning business
Full support and training provided where required
Opportunity to progress within the management structure
    The Ideal Candidate

This role would suit an experienced Industrial Cleaning Supervisor, Area Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, Facilities Supervisor, Area Manager or Contract Supervisor.

You will need to be confident managing people, holding teams accountable for performance and quality, and dealing professionally with clients. Most importantly, you will be someone who takes ownership, follows up on issues and ensures that standards are maintained across every site
