How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Critical Infrastructure | NEC Option A & B | Specialist Civils Subcontractor

    We're looking for a commercially sharp Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established civil engineering subcontractor delivering packages across major critical infrastructure projects.

    This is a hands-on commercial role. We need someone who can manage live projects and get involved at the front end - pricing works, completing take-offs and understanding exactly what it will cost to deliver.

    The Role

    * Commercial management of civil engineering packages under NEC Option A and Option B

    * Produce accurate take-offs and quantity measurements from drawings

    * Support estimating and pricing of new works and variations

    * Build up rates from first principles including labour, plant and materials

    * Manage applications, valuations and cash flow

    * Identify, price and manage compensation events

    * Subcontract procurement and account management

    * Cost forecasting, CVRs and commercial reporting

    * Maintain robust contemporary records

    * Identify commercial risk and opportunity

    * Work closely with operational teams to protect project margin

    * Support final account preparation and agreement

    You'll Need

    * Strong civil engineering / infrastructure experience

    * Good working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 Option A & B

    * Strong measurement, take-off and pricing capability

    * Commercial experience within a contractor or subcontractor environment

    * Ability to understand drawings and construction methodology

    * A practical, commercially savvy approach

    This will suit a Senior Commercial individual who understands both the numbers and how civil engineering projects are actually built
