An established and growing engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Civil / Structural Technician to join its team in Sheffield.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to work on a varied range of civil and structural engineering projects, producing high-quality technical drawings and supporting engineers throughout the design and delivery process.
The Role
As a Civil / Structural Technician, you will:
Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings using industry-standard CAD software.
Work closely with engineers and other members of the design team.
Prepare general arrangement drawings, details and construction information.
Assist with the development and coordination of engineering designs.
Interpret engineering calculations and design information.
Contribute to projects across a range of sectors.
Ensure drawings and documentation meet required technical and quality standards.
About You
We are looking for a technician with experience within a civil or structural engineering environment. You should be technically minded, detail-oriented and comfortable working as part of a collaborative design team.
Ideally, you will have:
Previous experience as a Civil or Structural Technician.
Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or relevant 3D design software.
An understanding of civil or structural engineering principles.
Experience producing technical drawings and construction details.
Good communication and organisational skills.
The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines.This role would suit an experienced technician, as well as someone looking to take the next step in their technical career within a supportive consultancy environment.
