How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated, and proactive Senior Support Worker to join our Supported Living team, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism to live independent, fulfilling, and meaningful lives.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital leadership role within the service, providing hands-on support while guiding and mentoring Support Workers to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. You will work closely with the Supported Living Manager to ensure the service operates safely, effectively, and in line with CQC standards.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a service that values positive outcomes, trauma-informed practice, and continuous improvement.

    What You'll Be Doing

Supporting People to Live Their Best Lives

    * Promote independence, choice, dignity, and inclusion.

    * Deliver person-centred support tailored to individual needs, goals, and aspirations.

    * Encourage participation in community activities, relationships, education, employment, and social opportunities.

    * Support individuals to exercise their rights and have their voices heard.

    * Help people build confidence and develop life skills.

    Leading and Supporting the Team

    * Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to Support Workers.

    * Lead shifts and make operational decisions when required.

    * Act as a positive role model, demonstrating best practice and professional standards.

    * Support the induction and development of new staff.

    * Promote effective communication and teamwork across the service.

    Championing Trauma-Informed Practice

    * Support colleagues to understand the impact trauma can have on behaviour and wellbeing.

    * Encourage consistent, predictable, and relationship-based support.

    * Model trauma-informed approaches in everyday practice.

    Ensuring Quality and Compliance

    * Maintain accurate records and documentation.

    * Support audits, quality checks, and service improvement initiatives.

    * Ensure safeguarding concerns, incidents, and complaints are reported appropriately.

    * Help maintain compliance with CQC regulations and organisational policies.

    Supporting Service Operations

    * Assist with staff rotas and workforce planning.

    * Help coordinate shift cover during sickness, annual leave, and emergencies.

    * Work closely with the Manager to ensure safe staffing levels and high-quality service delivery.

    What We're Looking For

    Essential

✅ Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism

✅ Experience working within a regulated social care setting

✅ Good understanding of person-centred support and promoting independence

    ✅ Knowledge of adult safeguarding

✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills

✅ Ability to lead by example and positively support colleagues

✅ Experience maintaining accurate records and documentation

✅ Competent IT and administrative skills

✅ Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and sleep-in shifts where required

    ✅ Aged 18 or over

What Makes You Successful in This Role?

    We're looking for someone who:

    * Is passionate about delivering outstanding person-centred support.

    * Demonstrates compassion, professionalism, and integrity.

    * Encourages and develops others.

    * Promotes independence rather than dependency.

    * Is resilient, adaptable, and solutions-focused.

    * Champions the rights, wellbeing, and aspirations of the people we support
