Plant Mechanic

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable company based in Petworth, West Sussex, for a Plant Mechanic. This Plant Mechanic role presents an excellent opportunity for skilled and experienced mechanics to join a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining a varied fleet of plant and commercial vehicles. The successful individual will have the chance to work in a supportive environment, both in workshop and mobile service settings, with a focus on quality workmanship and safety.

* Competitive hourly rate of £18 - £21, depending on experience
* Overtime available at time and a half for evenings and weekends
* Full-time, permanent employment with sociable hours (Monday to Friday, 8am-4.30pm)

Duties of a Plant Mechanic:
* Conduct repairs, servicing, and maintenance on plant machinery and commercial vehicles
* Diagnose faults accurately and implement effective solutions
* Maintain detailed records of all repairs and servicing tasks
* Work independently or collaboratively with team members
* Support the mobilisation of mobile service vans and workshop operations
* Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental standards
Requirements of a Plant Mechanic:
* Proven experience as a Plant Mechanic or HGV Technician with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role
* Hold a full UK driving licence; HGV or plant machinery qualifications are desirable
* Strong organisational skills and a flexible approach to working hours
* Self-motivated with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
