How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are recruiting for an experienced Fire Safety Manager to join a leading Social Housing provider based in Kingston upon Thames supporting property services across the local region on a one year fixed term contract.
     
    What’s on offer:
    Salary: £60,000
    Contract: 1 Year Fixed Term Contract
    Working pattern: Full-time – 35 hours per week
    Working arrangement: Hybrid working 2 to 3 days in the office

    Key responsibilities include:
    Manage and oversee the Group’s fire safety programmes across its residential property portfolio.
    Carry out fire safety inspections, surveys and audits, ensuring risks are identified and appropriately managed.
    Work closely with Property Managers to ensure Fire Risk Assessment recommendations and remedial actions are completed.
    Prepare specifications, monitor works on site and undertake quality assurance inspections.
    Manage contracts, variations and Contract Instructions where required.
    Ensure all fire safety, building safety, statutory and regulatory obligations are identified and progressed.
    Keep up to date with changes to fire safety legislation, guidance and regulatory requirements.
     
    The successful Fire Safety Manager will have:
    Strong knowledge and experience of Fire Risk Assessments and fire safety compliance.
    Experience managing fire safety contractors and external consultants.
    Strong understanding of fire safety legislation and regulations.
    Experience delivering fire safety remedial, major works or compliance programmes.
    A recognised Fire Safety qualification or Building safety qualification
    Strong project, contract and budget management skills.
    Experience working within a residential or social housing environment.
     
    This role would suit an experienced Fire Safety Manager, Fire Safety Project Manager or Senior Fire Safety professional looking for a one-year fixed-term opportunity with a reputable Social Housing organisation.
