How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Business Development Manager

    The Role
    The role is for an experienced Business Development Manager working with a well-established national leader in the sales of fresh and frozen seafood. You will be responsible for managing your own diary to manage and develop new and existing accounts in the B2B market. This role will require a proactive candidate who is confident in liaising with multi-disciplined teams at all levels.

    * Driving sales and growing profitability in your assigned territory.

    * Increasing market share.

    * Ensure that our client is invited to participate in new tenders through to completion.

    * Attend networking events and corporate functions to drive business forward.

    * Developing market leading knowledge of fresh produce and emerging industry trends to stand yourself in good stead to win future business from senior management in your target organisations.

    * Compiling strategic customer development plans.

    * Forecasting, analysing & reporting on your progress.

    The Candidate
    The ideal candidate for the role will have the following attributes;
    You will have 3 years of exposure in a similar role and will ideally have previous experience in the sales of fresh produce, seafood in particular to Chefs and Managers in the hospitality industry from SME’s to high-end restaurants and hotels.

    * Must be proactive & eager to develop business where possible over the phone and face to face.

    * Must be able to sell fresh produce to senior managers in SME’s & high-end restaurants and hotels.

    * Proven experience in a new business role within a similar industry – seafood, FMCG, food, fresh produce.

    * Pipeline management & forecasting experience.

    * Proven experience in solution selling.

    * Top level presentation, listening & questioning skills.

    * You will be target driven with proven experience in exceeding such targets consistently.
