How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Graduate Building Services M&E Engineer

    Location: Stoke-on-Trent
    Salary: £23,000-£28,000

An established engineering consultancy in Newcastle-under-Lyme is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Engineer to join its growing team.     Day-to-Day

    Your daily activities will include collaborating with a team of skilled engineers, contributing to the design and development of innovative engineering solutions, and gaining exposure to real-world projects. You will have the opportunity to attend client meetings, visit project sites, and work on a variety of tasks that will help you build a strong foundation for your engineering career.

    Responsibilities

    As a Graduate Engineer, you will:

    Assist in the design of heating, cooling, ventilation, electrical distribution, and lighting systems.
    Support energy modelling and utility applications.
    Produce engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
    Prepare technical reports and obtain supplier quotations.
    Attend site surveys and design team meetings with senior engineers.
    Conduct research to support project delivery.
    Provide general administrative support as required.

    Qualifications

    To be successful in this role, you should have:

    A degree in an engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Controls, or similar), ideally achieving a 2:1 or above.
    Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude towards learning.
