How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Special Needs Teaching Assistant
    Streatham

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain valuable, hands-on experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Starfyn Education is looking for passionate, patient and motivated Psychology Graduates to join schools across Streatham as SEN Teaching Assistants.

This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates who are considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Child Psychology, SEN Teaching, Speech and Language Therapy or another child-focused profession.

    The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and develop both academically and personally.
Working alongside teachers and wider school teams, you may support children and young people with a range of needs, including:

    Autism (ASD)
    ADHD
SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
    Learning difficulties
    Communication and interaction needs
    Behavioural needs
    Your day-to-day responsibilities could include:

    Providing 1:1 and small-group support
Helping pupils engage with lessons and access the curriculum
Supporting academic, social and emotional development
Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour
Helping pupils develop appropriate coping and emotional-regulation strategies
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Supporting teachers with classroom activities and interventions
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
Creating a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment
    Why Starfyn?
At Starfyn Education, we specialise in SEN recruitment, meaning we understand the importance of matching the right people with the right school and pupil.
We work closely with our candidates to understand their experience, interests and career goals, helping them find opportunities where they can make a genuine difference.
For Psychology graduates, an SEN Teaching Assistant role can provide valuable insight into how children develop, learn and respond to different environments and approaches.

    The Role: Teaching Assistant
Days Required:  Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4pm
    Pay: Between £90-£95 per day
    Location: Streatham
