How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Refrigeration Engineer

    Location: London - M25
    Main Areas: West End & East London
    Salary: £55,000 basic + Company Vehicle + Fuel Card + Benefits
    Employment: Full-Time, Permanent

    We are looking for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer with strong hands-on experience working with cold rooms, commercial fridges and refrigeration systems to join a growing specialist team covering London and the M25.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants a long-term career with a specialist refrigeration company, where technical ability, customer service and quality workmanship are genuinely valued.

    You will primarily be working across Central London, the West End and East London, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, servicing, fault finding, repairs, commissioning and installation works on a variety of commercial refrigeration equipment.

    The role offers a £55,000 basic salary, company vehicle and fuel card, with excellent overtime opportunities and a strong benefits package.

    As a Refrigeration Engineer, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repair and installation of a range of commercial refrigeration equipment, with a particular focus on cold rooms, fridges and associated refrigeration systems.

    Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

    Routine servicing, maintenance and repairs of refrigeration systems
    Mechanical and electrical fault finding and diagnostics
    Working on commercial cold rooms, fridges and refrigeration equipment
    Installation of refrigeration pipework and equipment
    Refrigeration pipework brazing, bending, setting and joining
    Pressure testing and brazing
    Commissioning and servicing refrigeration systems
    Refrigerant recovery
    Leak testing, evacuation and refrigerant charging
    Identifying faults and providing effective technical solutions
    Carrying out preventative maintenance and ensuring equipment operates efficiently
    Completing service reports and relevant documentation
    Ensuring all work is completed to the highest possible standard
    Maintaining excellent working relationships with customers and clients
    Identifying potential new product or service opportunities
    Working safely and in accordance with company procedures and legislation
    Working independently and as part of a wider engineering teamThere will also be occasional requirements for overnight stays away from home, with all reasonable business expenses covered by the company.

    The Equipment

    You will be working on a variety of commercial refrigeration systems and equipment, including:

    Cold rooms
    Commercial fridges
    Refrigeration systems
    Condensing units
    Refrigeration pipework
    Evaporators
    Controls and associated electrical systems
    Commercial refrigeration equipmentThe successful candidate will be an experienced refrigeration professional with a strong background in the field and the ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.

    You will ideally have:

    F-Gas Category 1
    NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning - C&G 6187
    Extensive practical experience within the refrigeration sector
    Strong experience working on cold rooms and commercial refrigeration/fridges
    Excellent refrigeration fault-finding and diagnostic skills
    Mechanical and electrical fault-finding experience
    Good knowledge of refrigeration controls
    Experience carrying out routine maintenance and servicing
    Experience with refrigeration installation
    Strong brazing, pipework and pressure-testing skills
    Experience with refrigerant recovery, evacuation, leak testing and charging
    Extensive experience undertaking on-site hot works and associated risk assessments
    Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements
    Full UK driving licence
    A professional and customer-focused approach
    The ability to work efficiently and productively without constant supervision
    A positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated attitude
