How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Art Teacher - SEN School

    Location: Colchester, Essex
    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

    Are you a passionate and qualified Art Teacher looking for a rewarding role where your creativity can genuinely transform young lives?

    We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Art Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive SEN School in Colchester, Essex. This is an exciting opportunity to work with students who have a range of additional needs, helping them build confidence, express themselves creatively, and achieve their individual potential through art.

    As an Art Teacher, you will:

    · Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Art lessons tailored to students' individual learning needs.
    · Inspire pupils to explore their creativity through a variety of artistic mediums and techniques.
    · Create a positive, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
    · Support students with Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and associated learning difficulties.
    · Monitor and assess student progress, celebrating achievements and encouraging personal development.
    · Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to provide holistic support for learners.

    The Ideal Candidate

    · Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
    · Has experience teaching Art within a secondary school, SEN setting, or alternative provision.
    · Is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.
    · Possesses excellent communication and classroom management skills.
    · Is creative, adaptable, patient, and resilient.
    · Has a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for pupils with SEN.
