How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Production Engineer / Panel Builder

    The Opportunity

    We are working with an innovative technology business operating within the Smart Buildings and Energy Management sector, who are looking to appoint a Production Engineer / Panel Builder to join their team in Burgess Hill.

    The company develops its own hardware and software solutions across areas including energy monitoring, energy management, communications and lighting control, helping major organisations improve energy efficiency and work towards their Net Zero targets.

    This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in electrical engineering, with full training provided and genuine opportunities to develop and progress within the business.

    The Role

    This is a hands-on, practical position working within the company's production office and workshop. You will be involved in building and preparing electrical control equipment, as well as supporting the wider production and order fulfilment process.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    * Building and assembling control boxes and electrical panels for energy and lighting control projects.

    * Processing sales and purchase orders.

    * Managing goods in and goods out, including preparing and shipping orders to UK and international customers.

    * Loading software onto hardware as part of the production process.

    * Supporting general production activities and ensuring equipment is prepared to the required standard.

    * Working closely with colleagues across the business to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.

    About You

    We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, practical, organised and keen to learn. Previous electrical engineering or panel-building experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

    You will ideally have:

    * Good basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel.

    * Strong communication and organisational skills.

    * A practical, hands-on approach to work.

    * A willingness to learn new technical skills and develop a career within engineering.

    * Experience with Sage or similar systems would be advantageous.

    * A professional and proactive attitude.

    What's on Offer?

    * 25 days' annual leave + bank holidays.

    * Company EOT bonus scheme.

    Full training and development.

    * Opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing technology business.

    * Hands-on experience across electrical engineering, production and smart building technology.

    If you're looking for an entry-level or early-career opportunity where you can learn practical electrical engineering skills while working with innovative technology, this could be an excellent opportunity to develop your career
