You will support the Cat Manager with the end-to-end catastrophe modelling process, including exposure capture, pre-underwriting analytics, portfolio roll-ups, aggregation, monitoring and reporting across multiple territories. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to workflow improvements, automation projects and the ongoing development of the team's catastrophe modelling capabilities using Verisk models and internal systems.
Suitable candidates will have a degree in one of the following subjects - geography, earth sciences, geology, environmental science, civil engineering or disaster management, together with a genuine interest in insurance, reinsurance and natural catastrophe risk. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with advanced Excel skills and excellent communication abilities. Knowledge of catastrophe modelling, Verisk Touchstone, SQL, Power BI or programming languages such as Python, R or VBA would be advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right individual
