We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Shift Engineer with strong mechanical maintenance experience and Authorised Person (AP) responsibility for pressure systems.
āļø This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with experience in steam, boilers, pressure systems, PPM, reactive maintenance and mechanical fault finding.
š§ Responsibilities & Duties
* š ļø Carry out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance.
* š„ Act as Mechanical AP for steam, boilers and pressure systems.
* š Manage mechanical isolations and Permit to Work procedures.
* š Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work are followed.
* āļø Maintain pumps, valves, boilers and associated mechanical plant.
* š Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
* šØ Respond to breakdowns and engineering issues during shifts.
š”ļø Support statutory inspections and pressure systems compliance.
* š Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records.
* š¤ Work closely with contractors, engineers and other disciplines.
* š¦ŗ Ensure all work is completed safely and to required standards.
šØāš§ Requirements
* āļø Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Shift Engineer.
* š Current or previous experience as a Mechanical Authorised Person (AP).
* š„ Strong steam, boiler and pressure systems experience.
* š Relevant mechanical engineering qualification or time-served experience.
* š Strong knowledge of PPM, reactive maintenance and fault finding.
* š Experience with Permit to Work and mechanical isolation procedures.
* š”ļø Good understanding of pressure systems safety and statutory compliance.
* š Experience within industrial, manufacturing, healthcare or highly regulated environments.
* š Ability to work both day and night shifts.
* š¬ Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
BOAS qualification is desirable but not essential; strong steam experience is essential.
