Finance Admin (Maternity Cover – 1 Year, Potential to be extended )
Salary: Up to £32,000 DOE
Hours: Mon–Thurs 7:30am–4:30pm, Fri 7:30am–3:30pm
Contract: Term Time Only + 2 Weeks (40 Weeks Per Year)
Location: Fully Onsite (No Hybrid / No WFH)

This is a 12‑month maternity cover, with the potential to be extended. The team invests heavily in its people many staff progress into new roles based on their strengths, and this position offers genuine long‑term opportunity within the wider administration team.
About the Role
This role is not suited to someone seeking a pure finance career it is an administrative role within a finance team, with future progression into wider office administration.
This role blends finance processing with general office administration. It is not a traditional finance‑only role — instead, you will work within the finance team while also supporting the wider office with day‑to‑day tasks, parent communication, and student interaction.
You will receive full training on internal systems and work closely with the Finance Manager. After the maternity cover period, the role will transition into another administrative position within the office (e.g., Admissions, Exams, Trips, Office Administration), depending on your strengths.
This role suits someone who is organised, proactive, detail‑driven and confident working in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Administration duties
- Placing orders and raising purchase orders
- Processing invoices
- Managing supplier, debtor and budget‑holder queries
- Credit card reconciliation
- Filing, archiving, photocopying and maintaining financial records
- Asset tracking
- Providing administrative support to the Finance Manager
General Administration
- Responding to routine correspondence via phone and email
- Handling pupil, parent and staff queries
- Photocopies and wider administrative support across the organisation

- Highly numerical
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail

- Strong spelling, grammar and written communication
- Logical thinker with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Keen interest in finance and developing within a finance team

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 1–2 years’ administrative experience
- Strong communication and time‑management skills
