How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Opportunity

Peabody is looking for a Head of Complex Repairs to lead the delivery of specialist, high-risk and technically complex repairs across its homes.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Repairs Delivery, you will lead a large regional surveying and coordination function, creating a consistent approach to complex repairs while improving technical assurance, case management and resident outcomes.

This is a significant period of change for the service, with teams being brought under a single leadership structure and a new end-to-end CRM process being introduced.

    Key responsibilities

    • Lead Peabody’s Complex Repairs service, setting clear standards and expectations across all regions.
    • Manage an approximately £25m budget, driving stronger commercial control and value for money.
    • Lead and performance manage Property Service Managers and surveying teams.
    • Strengthen the end-to-end management of complex cases, reducing delays, repeat visits and escalation into disrepair.
    • Improve technical standards, surveying quality and scrutiny of specifications and contractor variations.
    • Use data and performance information to identify issues, improve productivity and drive continuous improvement.
    • Manage risk relating to disrepair, damp and mould, structural defects, building safety and compliance.
    • Build effective relationships across Housing, Building Safety, Commercial, Procurement and Resident Experience.

    About you

You will be an experienced repairs or property services leader with strong technical knowledge of complex repairs and building pathology. You will combine commercial awareness with a data-led, process-driven approach and be confident leading dispersed teams through change.

A surveying qualification would be advantageous but is not essential. More important is significant repairs and maintenance experience, strong leadership capability and the credibility to challenge technical and commercial decisions.
