How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About us

Cricket District is a cricket content platform built around our YouTube channel, and District Creative is our sports production and creative agency, launched at the start of 2026. The two businesses sit side by side, and this role will work across both.

    The Role

We're looking for a Junior Designer to join the team and work across the whole business. Most of your work will sit on the agency side with District Creative, but you'll also get stuck into Cricket District projects: everything from thumbnails to Instagram posts. You'll report directly to our Head of Design.

    What you'll be doing

    • Supporting District Creative's agency work across a range of client projects
    • Designing thumbnails, social graphics and Instagram content for Cricket District
    • Helping develop design concepts
    • Working closely with our Head of Design and wider creative team
    • Picking up new design tasks as they come in across both businesses
    • Supporting the Design team to create brand identities and undertake branding refreshes
    • Photo retouching and manipulation
    • Creating assets such as logos, marketing materials, etc.
    • Developing presentations and pitch decks for the Cricket District and District Creative brands
    • Liaising within the team to ensure all client deadlines are met
    • Assisting the wider team where required with non-design tasks

    What we're looking for

    • Someone with cricket knowledge, or genuine interest in the sport
    • Experience working in the sports industry
    • A strong eye for design and a portfolio that shows range
    • Proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)
    • Motivated and hardworking individual with strong communication skills
    • A clear passion for all things design and creative
    • Solid understanding of design principles, with an ability to accept instruction
    • Enthusiasm and pride in your work with strong attention to detail
    • Comfortable working across fast-turnaround social content and longer agency projects
    • Happy working in Eastbourne at least one day a week, with the rest hybrid/remote

    Details

    • Full-time
    • Hybrid working, minimum 1 day/week in our Eastbourne office
    • Reports to: Head of Design
    • Salary: to be discussed
