How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Financial Services Regulatory Associate — London

    Elite International Practice

An Elite international law firm is looking to add a junior Financial Services Regulatory Associate to its highly regarded non-contentious FSR practice in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer at approximately 1–2 PQE to join a market-leading team and gain broad exposure to sophisticated financial services regulatory work across a diverse range of sectors and clients.

    The Role

The successful candidate will work on a broad mix of advisory and transactional regulatory matters, advising major financial institutions, investment businesses, asset managers, insurers, FinTechs and other sophisticated corporate clients.

The practice is deliberately broad, meaning Associates are not restricted to a single financial services sub-sector. The work covers:

    • New business structuring and regulatory authorisations
    • Regulatory aspects of M&A, investments and restructurings
    • Governance, SMCR and senior management responsibility
    • Regulatory change and compliance projects
    • Outsourcing, commercial and financial services contracts
    • Product and platform launches
    • FinTech, payments, digital assets, tokenisation and AI regulation
    • UK and EU financial services regulatory regimes, including MiFID II, CRR/CRD, AIFMD, EMIR and MAR

The team advises clients across banking, investment management, insurance, payments, market infrastructure, private equity, FinTech and energy, providing Associates with unusually broad exposure to the financial services regulatory landscape.

    Quality of Work

The team handles high-profile, complex mandates for major international clients, with recent work including:

    • Regulatory advice in connection with major banking and restructuring matters
    • Basel 3.1 implementation for an international financial institution
    • Bank authorisation and market-entry projects
    • Digital platform and technology regulation
    • Regulatory issues arising from crypto and digital assets
    • Payments and FinTech regulation
    • Emerging regulatory issues relating to AI

The practice is also closely integrated with its contentious Financial Services Regulatory colleagues. Associates who are interested in developing contentious expertise can gain exposure to disputes, investigations and enforcement-related matters alongside their core non-contentious work.

    Development & Training

For a junior Associate, the role offers an unusually strong platform for developing a long-term FSR career.

The team places significant emphasis on training, responsibility and secondment opportunities, including placements with major financial institutions and regulatory bodies.

Associates can expect exposure to senior lawyers and sophisticated clients from an early stage, while developing expertise across multiple areas of financial services regulation rather than becoming narrowly specialised.

    Candidate Profile

    The ideal candidate will be:

    • A Commonwealth qualified solicitor with approximately 1–2 PQE
    • Experienced in Financial Services Regulatory, ideally within a leading City or international practice
    • Strong technically with a genuine interest in financial services regulation
    • Comfortable working across both advisory and transactional matters
    • Interested in areas such as FinTech, payments, digital assets and emerging regulation
    • Commercially minded and able to engage confidently with sophisticated clients
    • Keen to develop a broad and market-leading FSR practice

    The Opportunity

This is a particularly strong opportunity for an early-career FSR lawyer seeking breadth, high-quality work and excellent technical development.

The combination of sophisticated international mandates, exposure across the financial services sector, access to contentious and non-contentious work, and strong secondment opportunities makes this an excellent platform for building a long-term career with an elite global practice.
