How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A specialist provision in Blackpool is seeking an experienced, resilient, and proactive 1:1 SEN Teacher to provide tailored full-time support to an individual pupil with complex social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and severe sensory-seeking profiles.

The learner displays socially disinhibited behaviours and requires structured, consistent guidance to navigate personal space, appropriate social boundaries, and the distinction between public and private settings. Working in close partnership with the SENCo, multi-agency teams, and support staff, you will deliver an accessible, individualised curriculum whilst upholding a structured Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework.

    Key Responsibilities

Deliver bespoke learning sessions differentiated to meet the targets outlined in the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Implement the pupil's individual Behaviour Support Plan (BSP) and dynamic risk assessments, focusing on active redirection, structured diversion, and tactile alternatives.

Reinforce concepts of personal boundaries, privacy protocols, and public vs private spaces using concrete visual aids, visual timetables, and Social Stories™.

Apply low-arousal approaches to reduce anxiety and prevent sensory overstimulation throughout the school day.

Work within established line-of-sight and intimate care guidelines, maintaining pupil dignity, professional boundaries, and strict adherence to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).

Keep objective, accurate daily tracking logs detailing behavioural triggers, de-escalation success, and academic progress.

    Candidate Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant specialist SEN teaching experience.

Proven track record supporting pupils with complex SEMH, neurodiverse profiles, or socially disinhibited behaviours.

Robust working knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) methodologies and proactive de-escalation techniques.

    A de-escalation / positive handling qualification (e.g., Team-Teach, MAPA/CPI) is strongly advantageous.

A calm, non-judgemental, and professional disposition with an uncompromising commitment to safeguarding.

Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
