Produce timely and accurate financial reports for the Pension Fund, including the annual accounts and annual report.
Ensure the financial ledger is reconciled to relevant records for LGPS and Teachers' Pensions contributions and payments.
Ensure income and expenditure are completely and correctly reported in the Fund's accounts and resolve ledger issues where applicable.
Provide monitoring information to assist in the management of the Fund.
Calculate year-end and quarter-end adjustments, including accruals, investment valuations, purchases and sales.
Complete notes to the pension fund accounts and prepare high-quality supporting working papers.
Ensure auditors' queries are dealt with promptly.
Complete statutory and statistical data returns in accordance with requirements.
Support the production of reports to Pension Fund Committees and Boards.
What you'll need to succeed
Proven Pension Fund accounting experience within a local government environment.
Strong experience in reconciliations, cashflow management, year-end accounts, and financial controls.
Experience preparing statutory and actuarial returns.
Practical knowledge of LGPS accounting.
Ability to work independently and contribute with minimal training.
