How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Waking Night Residential Support Worker

    Sale | New 3-Bed EBD Children's Home

    £16.00 per hour
    11:00pm-7:00am | Full-Time

    A brand-new 3-bed residential children's home in Sale is looking for a dedicated Waking Night Residential Support Worker to join the team.

    This is an opportunity to join a new service from the beginning and play an important role in creating a safe, stable and supportive environment for young people.

    The Role

    Working as part of the night team, you will be responsible for supporting the young people throughout the night, ensuring they are safe, settled and appropriately supported.

    The home follows a trauma-informed approach, drawing on:

    * Attachment theory
    * PACE
    * NVR strategies
    * Positive and consistent behaviour support

    You will need to be confident working independently overnight while knowing when to escalate concerns to management and follow agreed procedures.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Providing support and reassurance to young people throughout the night
    * Maintaining a safe and secure environment
    * Responding appropriately to any concerns or incidents
    * Supporting young people who may wake during the night
    * Following individual care plans and risk assessments
    * Completing accurate night-time records and handovers
    * Carrying out agreed checks and routines
    * Supporting safeguarding and wellbeing
    * Maintaining a calm and nurturing environment
    * Communicating effectively with the day team and management
    * Following the home's policies, procedures and therapeutic approaches

    About You

    An NVQ/Level 3 qualification is not essential, although it would be desirable.

    Previous experience working with children or young people is also desirable, particularly within residential childcare, care, education or another relevant support environment.

    We're looking for someone who is:

    * Calm and patient
    * Reliable and responsible
    * Confident working independently
    * Compassionate and child-focused
    * Able to respond appropriately to challenging situations
    * A strong communicator
    * Committed to safeguarding
    * Willing to learn and develop their understanding of trauma-informed practice

    Training & Development

    You'll be joining a supportive management structure with a strong Senior Leadership Team behind the service.

    There is also the opportunity to undertake a fully funded Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare, making this a strong opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career within children's residential care.

    Hours & Pay

    Waking Nights: 11:00pm-7:00am
    £16.00 per hour

    If you're experienced in supporting children and young people and are looking for a waking-night role within a brand-new specialist home, we'd be keen to hear from you.

    Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age
