How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About the role of Project Quantity Surveyor

    As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be joining the commercial team of a Main Contractor who have been in the construction industry for over 50 years with a turnover of approximately £50m. The majority of the work is based in London with a focus on residential projects as well as commercial, health, education, and later living schemes. Project values range from £5m - £15m with a strong pipeline over the next year.

    Their head office is based near East London and have a team of over 100 experienced workers. They are known for having a long-standing dedication to their business and clients with steady growth and long-servers who have progressed through the ranks.

    They are seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor who is eager to progress into a Senior Quantity Surveyor position within the next year.

    Key Responsibilities for Project Quantity Surveyor

    Include but not limited to:

    Monitor project costs against approved budget
    Prepare and maintain cost/value reports
    Manage project cash flow
    Prepare subcontract enquiries and review quotations
    Prepare, negotiate and agree subcontract orders
    Manage subcontractor variations and claims
    Price variations and obtain quotations where required
    Ensure changes are properly instructed and documented
    Understand and administer JCT contract
    Agree subcontractor final accounts
    Produce monthly CVR'sKey Requirements for Project Quantity Surveyor

    Live within commutable distance to London
    Minimum of 5 years of experience at a Traditional Main Contractor
    Degree educated in a construction related subject
