My client are an established structural engineering consultancy with a team of approximately 25 engineers, delivering a wide range of structural engineering projects across the UK.
Their CAD function currently consists of a small UK-based team supported by an experienced offshore CAD team overseas. Due to continued project demand, they are looking to strengthen their UK office with an experienced Senior Revit Technician who can provide hands-on support to the engineering team.
The Role
They are looking for an experienced Senior Revit Technician to join their UK office. You will work closely with structural engineers, providing day-to-day Revit and CAD support across live projects, producing high-quality models and drawings and responding to urgent project requirements.
This is an Hybrid office-based role, ideal for someone who enjoys being directly involved with engineers and taking ownership of technical drawing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed 3D Revit models and structural drawings for live engineering projects
Provide day-to-day Revit and CAD support to structural engineers
Interpret structural engineering and architectural drawings and translate designs into accurate Revit models
Produce detailed GA drawings, layouts, sections, details and other technical documentation
Respond quickly to urgent drawing and modelling requirements from engineers
Coordinate models and drawings with engineers and other disciplines
Review drawings for accuracy, consistency and compliance with project requirements
Manage drawing revisions and maintain good document control
Liaise with the wider CAD team, including the remote Senior Revit Technician and offshore CAD team
Help improve drawing and modelling workflows where appropriate
Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced members of the CAD team
Requirements
Proven experience as a Revit Technician / Senior Revit Technician within a structural engineering environment
Strong proficiency in Revit
Good understanding of structural engineering drawings and construction information
Ability to produce accurate and detailed structural models and drawings
Experience working closely with structural engineers
Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
Comfortable managing multiple drawing requests and priorities
Good communication skills and a proactive approach
Ability to work independently while also contributing to a wider CAD team
Desirable
Experience within a structural engineering consultancy
Knowledge of AutoCAD
Experience working with reinforced concrete, steel or other structural materials
Experience coordinating with offshore or remote CAD teams
HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction or a related discipline
