Hightown Housing Association is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager to join our Finance team during a critical and exciting period of change. This is an exceptional opportunity to play a key role in the implementation of our new finance system while providing specialist technical accounting expertise, balance sheet assurance, and financial reporting support.
This is not a "business as usual" role. You will be joining us at a pivotal moment, helping to shape processes, resolve historic accounting issues, strengthen financial governance, and ensure a smooth transition as we embed our new OneAdvanced Finance system.
What You Will Be Doing
Lead balance sheet assurance activities and strengthen financial controls
Investigate and resolve historic accounting and reconciliation issues
Provide expert technical accounting advice under FRS 102 and relevant accounting standards
Support VAT compliance, reviews and process improvements
Play a key role in the successful implementation and embedding of our new finance system
Support audit preparation, statutory accounts and regulatory reporting
Collaborate closely with senior finance colleagues to mitigate risk and drive continuous improvement
What We Are Looking For
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant experience in:
Financial reporting and technical accounting
Statutory accounts preparation under FRS 102
Audit support and regulatory reporting
Balance sheet control and reconciliation management
Financial controls and governance
Advanced Excel and financial analysis
Experience within social housing would be beneficial, but we are equally keen to hear from candidates with strong technical accounting experience from other complex or regulated sectors.
