How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Estates Project Manager
    Location: North Yorkshire Police Headquarters, Northallerton
    Contract Type: Permanent
    Hourly Rate: £50949 to £54696 dependant on Experience
    Working Pattern: Full Time - Hybrid

    North Yorkshire Police is seeking a skilled and driven Project Manager to join their Portfolio and Programme Management Office within Corporate Development.

    Corporate Development brings together Business Insight, Corporate Communications, Executive Support, Information Management, and the Portfolio Programme Management Office to deliver a unified, professional service that supports organisational priorities.

    As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in planning, managing and delivering projects and change initiatives that maximise organisational performance and return on investment. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with measurable outcomes, directly supporting frontline services and strategic objectives.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Lead the end-to-end delivery of projects, applying recognised project management methodologies
    Develop and manage project plans, budgets, risks and resources
    Ensure delivery of business benefits in line with approved business cases
    Collaborate with stakeholders to support implementation and transition into business-as-usual (BAU)
    Provide regular progress reports to governance boards, highlighting risks and performance
    Lead and motivate multi-disciplinary project teams, including Business Analysts
    Manage stakeholder engagement across senior leaders, partners, and external agencies
    Drive continuous improvement in portfolio and programme management practices
    Provide expert advice, coaching and guidance to colleagues across the organisationWhat We're Looking For

    Essential:

    Qualification in (or working towards) a project management methodology such as PRINCE2, or equivalent experience
    Proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex projects
    Strong understanding of benefits realisation and management
    Experience leading and developing multi-disciplinary teams
    Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
    Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving ability
    Commercial awareness and a strategic mindsetDesirable:

    Coaching or mentoring experience/qualification
    ITIL knowledge or experience working in an ITIL environment
