How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A 6-month FTC opportunity for an experienced Procurement Manager / Senior Procurement professional to take the lead on procurement across a multi-site Scottish operation.

    This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can quickly understand the business, build relationships and provide stability and direction to the procurement function.

    You will support the team and keep procurement moving, whilst continuing to identify opportunities to improve value, supplier performance and ways of working.

    The role

    Lead procurement activity across multiple Scottish locations, setting priorities and providing clear direction to the team.
    Provide strong day-to-day leadership, support and guidance, ensuring the team has the direction and backing they need.
    Work closely with site and operational teams, Finance and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide practical procurement support.
    Manage sourcing, tendering, commercial negotiations, contracts and key supplier relationships.
    Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiencies and better value across the region.
    Use spend and procurement data to identify opportunities and improve procurement performance.
    Ensure procurement activity follows appropriate governance, policies and processes.
    Work with Group Procurement to share best practice and maximise buying opportunities.
    Support continuous improvement across procurement processes and ways of working. About you

    You will have significant procurement experience
    Confident, credible and commercially minded.
    A strong people leader who can provide calm, clear direction and support.
    Someone who can quickly build trust and relationships with stakeholders and the procurement team.
    Experienced in sourcing, category management, negotiation, supplier and contract management.
    Practical and hands-on, with the ability to get involved in the detail when needed.
