How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Associate Mechanical Engineer
    London | Hybrid Working | Up to £90k

    Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking for your next step?

    This is an opportunity to join a well-established, independently owned engineering consultancy that is entering an exciting period of growth. With around 400 people today and plans to double in size over the next four years, there is plenty of scope to progress and take on greater responsibility.

    The Opportunity
    As an Associate Mechanical Engineer, you'll take ownership of projects from concept through to completion, working closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary design teams.

    You'll lead mechanical design, develop engineering strategies and provide technical direction, while also getting involved in client relationships, project management and business development.

    You'll have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and play an active role in developing the London mechanical team.

    The Projects
    You'll work across a varied portfolio including commercial, residential, education, healthcare, leisure and heritage, with sustainability and energy-efficient design at the heart of the consultancy's approach.

    The multidisciplinary environment means you'll work alongside electrical, structural, civil and sustainability specialists on technically interesting projects.

    About You
    Were looking for a Mechanical Engineer with strong building services design experience who is ready to take on more responsibility.

    You'll ideally be Chartered or working towards Chartership, with experience leading projects, managing client relationships and supporting junior engineers.

    Experience with Revit, IES, Hevacomp or CAD would be beneficial.

    Most importantly, you'll want to build your career in a growing business where there is a genuine pathway towards Associate Director and Director-level positions.
