How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Sustainability Consultant

    Location: London
    Level: Consultant
    Working Arrangement: Hybrid
    Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

We’re looking for a Sustainability Consultant to join our growing team, working across our London and Sidcup offices.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a couple of years’ experience in the built environment who is looking to develop their technical expertise across building performance, carbon and sustainability.

The role would suit someone who has a strong interest in IES modelling, alongside experience or exposure to BREEAM, WELL and whole-life carbon. You’ll work closely with clients and multidisciplinary design teams to help deliver more sustainable, efficient and better-performing buildings.

    The Role

As a Sustainability Consultant, you’ll support the delivery of sustainability and building performance projects across a range of sectors.

A key part of the role will be IES modelling and building performance analysis, helping project teams understand and improve the energy and environmental performance of their buildings.

You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your experience across carbon, BREEAM, WELL and whole-life carbon assessments, working alongside experienced consultants and contributing to projects from early design through to completion.

The role is hybrid, although initially there may be a greater expectation to work from the office while you get settled into the team.

    Key Responsibilities

Undertaking IES modelling and building performance analysis.
Supporting energy and environmental assessments and providing recommendations to design teams.
Contributing to BREEAM and WELL assessments.
Supporting whole-life carbon assessments using One Click LCA.
Assisting with sustainability strategies and carbon reduction studies.
Producing technical reports, calculations and sustainability documentation.
Working with architects, engineers and wider multidisciplinary project teams.
Supporting clients with practical and commercially viable sustainability recommendations.
Keeping up to date with developments in building performance, carbon and sustainability standards.
Developing your technical knowledge and taking increasing responsibility for project delivery.

    About You

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about sustainability and keen to develop their career within a technically focused consultancy.

    You’ll ideally have:

Around 2+ years’ experience in a sustainability, environmental, building performance or related consultancy role.
Practical experience with IES modelling — this is an important requirement for the role.
Experience or a good working knowledge of BREEAM and WELL.
Experience with, or an understanding of, One Click LCA and whole-life carbon.
A good understanding of building energy performance and sustainable design.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work collaboratively with clients and multidisciplinary design teams.
A relevant degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, architecture, building physics or a related discipline.

    What We Offer

A competitive salary based on experience.
Hybrid working, with offices in London and Sidcup.
The opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of interesting projects.
Excellent opportunities for technical development and career progression.
Support towards relevant professional qualifications and training.
A collaborative and supportive working environment.
The opportunity to develop expertise across IES, carbon, BREEAM, WELL and whole-life carbon.
The chance to contribute to projects that are helping to create more sustainable and better-performing buildings.

    Interested?

If you’re a Sustainability Consultant with IES modelling experience and are looking for an opportunity to develop your career across building performance, carbon and wider sustainability, we’d love to hear from you.
