How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role of the Mechanical Design Engineer

    As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll be involved in the full lifecycle of product development—from concept through to production. You’ll work on a diverse range of mechanical and mechatronic systems, using tools such as 3D CAD, FEA, and design quality methodologies like Failure Tree Analysis.

    Other responsibilities include:

    * Lead and deliver design projects within agreed timelines

    * Develop design concepts and ensure they meet quality, cost, and delivery targets

    * Create layout models and detailed drawings, including BOMs and documentation for sales and service

    * Define and coordinate testing requirements, analyse results, and implement necessary design changes

    * Manage outsourced design activities

    * Resolve technical issues using structured problem-solving tools

    * Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and customers across global sites

    About You – Mechanical Design Engineer

    We’re looking for a proactive and creative engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex design challenges.

    Other requirements include:

    * Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)

    * At least 5 years of experience in a mechanical design role

    * Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software

    * Experience with hydraulic systems is highly advantageous

    * Familiarity with the full development cycle, from concept to testing
