How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Summary

    This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of the firm’s business development and marketing activities working closely with the different groups of patent and trade mark attorneys. Duties will include, but are not limited to, supporting and delivering a range of business development and marketing initiatives across the firm, including client and sector targeting, pitches and proposals, campaigns and content, client development activities and BD reporting.

    The role will act as a day-to-day point of contact for members of the firm, working closely with them to identify and progress business development opportunities. The role will also support the delivery of wider BD and marketing initiatives and projects throughout the year, as determined by the Business Development & Marketing Director.

    The role is supported by a Marketing & Business Development Administrator.

    Key Responsibilities

    ​

    * Help drive and support business development and profile raising activities across the firm, working closely with partners, attorneys and the wider Marketing & Business Development team.

    * Support assigned business development sector groups, including attending meetings, contributing ideas, maintaining action plans, support pitches and client presentations, and helping to progress agreed initiatives

    * Support fee earners attending international conferences and trips, including pre-conference research, targeting and business development planning, and coordinate follow-up activity where appropriate.

    * Provide support to the UK referrers programme as required.

    * Assist with the generation of reports to support business development meetings, practice group meetings and Executive Committee meetings as required, ensuring that appropriate and accurate data is included from Inprotech and other relevant sources.

    * Develop and maintain useful materials such as general collateral, testimonials, case studies, directory materials etc.

    * Write submissions to the major legal directories, liaising with partners and attorneys ensuring deadlines are met.

    * Liaise with the firm’s PR advisers and assist where necessary with the placing of articles and with providing press comment from attorneys.

    * Planning and delivery of events.

    * Manage day-to-day website content, working with the Marketing & Business Development Administrator on content uploads and with the firm's website developers where required.

    * Monitor website and social media performance using Google Analytics and other available tools, identifying trends and recommending opportunities to improve engagement and website traffic.

    * Use digital performance data to recommend improvements to content scheduling, promotion and channel activity, including identifying content that may benefit from paid promotion
