How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Year 5 Teaching Assistant

    Location: Hackney, East London
    Pay: £98 per day, increasing to £124 per day after 12 working weeks
    Hours: 8:30am to 3:50pm
    Contract: Full-time, term-time only

    Role Summary

    As a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support learning across the classroom, deliver targeted interventions and provide individual support where required.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support teaching and learning within Year 5 classes.
    Deliver small group interventions to reinforce learning and build confidence.
    Provide one-to-one support for pupils who require additional assistance.
    Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials.
    Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and participation.
    Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
    Monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff.
    Contribute to a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.

    Candidate Requirements

    Pay and Progression

    The daily rate for this position starts at £98 per day and increases to £124 per day after 12 working weeks, subject to relevant agency worker regulations.
    Candidates with previous school-based experience, relevant qualifications, SEND experience, intervention delivery experience or a proven track record supporting pupil progress may be considered for opportunities at the higher pay rate where applicable.
