How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

    Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

    Location: Derby, Derbyshire

    Salary: £55,000 - £60,000

    Shift: 3 Shift – Days / Afternoons / Nights

    Job Role of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

    A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a strong Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading FMCG manufacturing business at their high-speed manufacturing facility in Derby.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased engineer looking to join a business that heavily invests in its people, training and development. Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving high-speed production and packaging machinery, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.

    You will be responsible for carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance, alongside electrical fault-finding and breakdown response. You will also have the opportunity to get involved with root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects, helping to improve the reliability and performance of the site.

    You will be working with a range of electrical systems, PLCs, drives and automated production equipment, making this an excellent role for an engineer looking to develop their technical skillset.

    Sector – FMCG / Factory Maintenance

    Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

    Electrical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
    Strong hands-on electrical fault-finding experience.
    Experience carrying out planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance within a fast-paced production environment.
    Recognised electrical engineering qualification to a minimum craft level.

    Requirements for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

    Hands-on experience fault-finding on automated production machinery.
    Experience with PLCs, ideally Siemens S5 and S7.
    Experience with AC/DC inverter drives and electrical control systems.
    Strong electrical engineering knowledge.
    Manufacturing or FMCG experience.
    Mechanical and pneumatic awareness.
    Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond quickly to breakdowns.
    Strong understanding of health & safety and compliance within a manufacturing environment.

    Desirable Requirements for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

    ONC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
    COMPEX qualification or experience working within hazardous areas.
    17th Edition qualification.
    Apprentice-trained background.
    Experience within FMCG, food or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
    Experience with GMP and KPI-driven manufacturing environments.
    Experience with continuous improvement and root cause analysis.

    The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will benefit from:

    £55,000 - £60,000 salary including a £3,500 shift allowance.

    Shift Pattern

    Nights: Sunday 6pm–6am, Monday–Thursday 10pm–6am.
    4 Saturdays per year are required, with 14 days' notice to make up contracted hours.
