How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded HR professional to join a well-established organisation and play a key role in delivering both strategic and operational HR support across the business.

The successful candidate will have a strong generalist HR background, coupled with significant experience managing complex employee relations matters. Working closely with senior leadership, you will lead on a broad range of people initiatives while ensuring HR best practice and compliance are maintained throughout the organisation.

    The Role

As HR Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day HR function, providing expert advice and guidance across the full employee lifecycle. You will be responsible for supporting managers with complex people matters, driving employee engagement initiatives, and contributing to the ongoing development of HR policies, processes, and practices.

This role would suit an experienced HR professional who enjoys operating in a varied position, balancing strategic projects with hands-on operational support.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Providing expert HR advice and support to managers across all areas of the employee lifecycle.

    * Leading and managing complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, and performance-related matters.

    * Coaching and developing managers to enhance people management capability across the business.

    * Supporting recruitment, onboarding, talent development, and succession planning activities.

    * Reviewing and developing HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.

    * Monitoring employment legislation and implementing any required changes.

    * Supporting organisational change initiatives, including restructures and consultation processes where required.

    * Producing HR reports and management information to support business decision-making.

    * Working closely with senior stakeholders to drive a positive and high-performing workplace culture.

    About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:

    * Proven experience in a senior HR generalist role.

    * Significant experience managing complex employee relations cases from start to finish.

    * Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.

    * Experience building effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

    * Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.

    * The ability to balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach.

    * A proactive and commercially focused mindset.

    * CIPD qualification or equivalent experience is desirable
