How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical / Plumbing Bias - Workplace Administrator

    Contract Dates: 14 September 2026 - 2 October 2026
    Reason for Vacancy: Annual Leave Cover
    Location: London, EC1M 6AL
    Working Hours: 08:00am - 17:00pm 5 days a week
    Pay: £19.19 per hour PAYE/ £25.00 per hour Umbrella

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Workplace Administrator with an Electrical/Plumbing bias to provide temporary cover during annual leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation, safety and presentation of the workplace, carrying out routine maintenance checks, responding to minor facilities issues and ensuring the office environment remains safe, functional and well maintained.
    The role requires someone who is practical, organised and able to work independently, while confidently prioritising competing maintenance and workplace requests.

    Key Responsibilities

    Electrical Maintenance & Fault Finding

    Carry out basic low-voltage electrical maintenance safely and within the limits of your competency.
    Reset trip switches and replace fuses, bulbs and other basic components where appropriate.
    Undertake minor repairs to sockets and electrical equipment.
    Carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) where suitably trained and authorised.
    Follow safe electrical isolation procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
    Site requirement: Confirm whether formal 18th Edition and/or NVQ electrical certification is required.

    Minor Plumbing & Fabric Repairs

    Carry out basic plumbing tasks, including unblocking drains and repairing leaking taps and valves.
    Inspect water heaters and identify/report faults.
    Complete routine water temperature checks and support Legionella control procedures in line with site requirements.
    Undertake minor fabric and general building repairs as required.

    Handyman & General Maintenance

    Use hand and power tools safely and competently.
    Carry out light carpentry and minor wall repairs.
    Hang signage, adjust desks and furniture, and undertake general workplace repairs.
    Maintain a tidy, safe and professional working environment.

    Daily Workplace Walkthroughs

    Conduct structured morning floor walks before staff arrive.
    Inspect:
    Desks and workstations
    Ergonomic setups
    Printer and stationery points
    Kitchen and coffee areas
    General workplace condition
    Emergency exits and access routes
    Identify and report hazards, defects or maintenance requirements.
    Ensure issues are logged and followed through to resolution where appropriate.

    Health & Safety

    Maintain a good working knowledge of workplace Health & Safety requirements.
    Understand and apply COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) procedures.
    Complete routine emergency lighting checks as required.
    Identify, record and report workplace hazards promptly.
    Follow all relevant site procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.

    Mailroom & Logistics

    Support day-to-day mailroom operations.
    Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail and deliveries.
    Assist with the movement and organisation of office supplies, equipment and furniture.
    Support general workplace logistics and ad-hoc facilities requests.

    Desirable Skills & Experience

    Manual Handling Certification and practical experience safely moving boxes, paper stock, equipment and office furniture.
    Previous experience in facilities, workplace services, maintenance, building services or a similar environment.
    Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
    Comfortable switching between routine workplace checks and urgent reactive maintenance issues, such as a burst pipe or electrical fault.
    Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
    Strong attention to detail and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
    Good communication and customer service skills.
